3.5hours drive out on Friday night, listening to endless replays of songs from Wicked. Missed out on the view on the way there but was greeted with all these the next morning:

Did a country drive to neighbouring towns on Saturday afternoon.

The town is so old that everything was pretty much dilapidating.

This little antique store is so cute! We didn’t even know it was open when we were out there fooling around with those two little figurines.

Did I also mention how absolutely mad windy that day was? You could literally hear the wind howling away. Pretty scary. Anyone wearing a poofy skirt would stand absolutely zero chance at holding it down cos it was that strong. Scenery wasn’t at its best because of the wind. Too much dust.

Stopped at Quorn which was about 30 minutes out of Port Augusta. This is the railway station where the Wichi Richi train departs from.

Them outside the vintage bookstore. It was so well stocked! Saw a hardcover Adrian Mole Diaries for only $7.50 but decided against it cos I don’t really fancy reading really old books.

Also went to Shaleeni’s church on Sunday morning. Got invited up on stage to sing. Shall blog more about it another time when it’s not that late. Toodles

And I’ve also been super duper hooked on Ranch Rush!! My farm is now twice as big as this!

I can’t explain my recent fascination with black roses. I know black roses don’t exist naturally but this makes them all the more intriguing.

Just don’t like how people like to associate black roses to morbidity and death though.

Black roses or other flowers actually make a lot of appearance in weddings. Hah. So beautiful when tastefully done. Goes so, so well with winter weddings, done in a chic and metropolitan style.

The other thing that went black is my hair. Not just dull typical-asian-brownish-black-black but completely jet black. I suppose that  look still suits the fair skinned more than the olive skinned.

I have also set out another rule I shall live by. To take twice the effort to look twice as good when I’m down or not unwell. The last thing I want people to think or comment on how I look like shit is when I actually do feel like shit. I suppose the only excuse to looking bad is when I’m running late.

Dash & Will

Their real names are Charlotte and Josie. Dash and Will are what they would call themselves if they were boys. Cool. Another Aussie act. I think they are alright. One thing about the Aussies is that they REALLY love and support their local acts. It’s good I suppose for the local music industry but yeah, don’t take their word too seriously when they say stuff like ‘best thing ever’, ‘genius’ etc. They think The Veronicas are great. Come on, really?

Anyhow, Dash and Will aren’t half as bad as the Origliasso twins. There are, in fact, tonnes better. And there are heaps of other great Aussie talents, Kate Miller-Heidke being a prime example.

Here’s a cover of  Empire of the Sun’s Walking on a Dream, thanks to Alison’s recommendation. I love them both equally much. Though I tend to get a bit defensive against covers of tracks I really love. I thought David Cook butchered Always Be My Baby intially, but it did grow on me eventually.

Times like this make me want to throw myself at the on-coming train for deciding to ditch the “greener” pasture and go back to Malaysia.

There’s this very irritating blogger who incessantly talks shit about the country. True, Malaysia is screwed up in many ways and we have shithead leaders yada yada but, really, yawn! People can read bloody MalaysiaKini or whatever political blogs you get out there. And even after all these endless tirade against our country and its people, he is still there. *massive roll eye
He probably thinks every person who has the qualification and profession should leave the country. Sure, just what the country needs. An advocate for brain drain. If he were to meet me, he’d probably think I’m insane and what not.
Listen up mister, I’m not gonna let you rain on my parade. You sure are one heck of a pessimist! I don’t know what possessed me to read his blog in the first place.

And it’s not like I’m that patriotic either. Heck, I’m not even interested in politics, period! Just the thought of being back with my closest and dearest, supporting the bf in his calling and also being back with my parents again. I haven’t had this revelation of putting relationships first even willing to give up 10 Chanel 2.55s! until quite recently but I’m really glad I do understand now. It honestly never crossed my mind to go back actually. I have indeed come a long way since 2.5 years ago when I was a typical FOBer, Australia-is-God-sent-and-Malaysia-sucks-narrow minded-git. I guess God has brought a lot of different people to my life who have taught me otherwise.

As for now, the saddest thing I can think of for leaving Adelaide or Australia for the matter is… the SHOPPING T_T Ironic for me since I’m one of those who readily give up their food for shoes. Now that I’m going back to the glorious haven of food, I might need to starve for the entire month just to buy nice stuff. Because the nice clothes are bloody expensive, on a dollar to dollar basis. Thank God for the vintage revival! Imma raid my mum’s closet for her 80s-90s clothes and people will think I’m cool. *snorts Seriously, structured shoulders, acid wash denims, blazers, vintagey dresses.. who would’ve thought! Fingers crossed they are still there.

What a misleading title. I’m off to bed so I can be the first at Kookai tomorrow morning and then shuffle off to uni to fight with the other 391029 China students for a space at the computer labs. Ho hum.

The clouds have decided to lash us with heavy rains after days of blissfully being sun soaked. I thought spring would come early this year. What a tease *not happy

So here I am, clad in crazy comfy trackies, arming myself with magazines/notes,  christmas songs in August (guilty pleasure), green tea and my imaginary box of chocolates (mind over matter! sobs..) and rejoicing in the fact that me and my trusty little red umbrella have survived another day of battle with the crazy winds of Adelaide.  It is beyond fathomable how that little red foldable Esprit umbrella has been so resilient against the winds and have never, once been blown the other way back, broken to many pieces or been blown away for that matter. *proud. Especially when everyone else have got their own mishaps with umbrellas. *even prouder

Btw, all anger from yesterday dissolved after a short talk with the extremely apologetic boyfriend. Having a chat with the mother before he got back also helped soften things up. Sigh, so much for the cold shoulder.

I read somewhere that green tea is best made with water whose temperature is just below 70 degrees. Too hot and it’ll kill the leaves thus rendering them useless. The colour should be yellowish green instead of yellowish orange. It really does taste sweeter and more refreshing when it’s not over “cooked”. So don’t tip the kettle immediately after the water boils or take the kettle off before it starts to boil ( this one takes a lot trial and error).

Apparently drinking beverages over 70 degrees increases the chances of getting oesophageal cancer by 8 times as opposed to just drinking it luke warm.

There, more excuses to drink green tea. It also got me thinking if people really do drink something so hot. Somehow the older generation i.e my grandparents are capable of doing that. But it’s probably a bit abnormal for younger people to do that. Just a thought anyway.

I’ve been up, waiting, surfing aimlessly. Satisfying my voyeuristic needs with whatever outlets the world wide web offers. Listening to Eric Clapton. Just to take my mind off what I should I do next.  Should I continue to let the anger simmer?Or just sleep it off and let it tide over?

Honestly, I think I would do the former. It gives me such sadistic glee when I hear the phone buzz but deliberately ignored. Thinking of how it would ruin his day sorts of soothes the seething anger.

Why is it, that relationships bring the worst out of me? People? I’ve heard this phrase ever so many times before yet as much as I’ve scoffed at that thought, I’d never failed to fall back into that pattern. I love making a fuss out of everything. I love making life miserable for him. Heck, I might even make it known to everyone who I come into contact with.

I can’t believe I am this horrid. I hate to think that I should change. I might not even deserve to have someone go the extra mile to irritate me for me. How can you love and hate someone so much at the same time? Seriously, why does he do this to me, repeatedly?

I think I’ve decided to stay up just to put him on a guilt trip for making me stay up just so we could talk. Me not having uni tomorrow is not a justification at all!

And my butt aches from sitting in this uncomfortable position prolongly.

Because I just imported my blogspot blog over and edited the title of the posts only to discover that they do not appear.

Am I frustrated?

Pretty

Reptile print is a must though that’s about the most reptile skin I’ll ever come into contact with. Pretty but eww at the same time. On the other hand.. more snakes will be dead because of this. Hmm… I wouldn’t mind that either. I am also fully aware that most of them aren’t even real reptile skin anyway. -__-

The bf has also bought me one with minimal amount of snake print but pretty nonetheless. *glee*

And soft textured leopard print ballet flats. Not the hard plastic-y ones you find at Rubi($25 per pair!) or something. Rubi has got some great looking shoes but sadly, extremely bad quality and not durable. Which again depends on how often you wear it.

I need a new laptop! Mine is so ancient that it’s not even rectangular but squarish! I’m actually quite ashamed to be seen with it Couldn’t find a good enough excuse to change it anyhow because it’s still working really fine after more than 4 years albeit a bit low on RAM.

Maybe I should will myself a new laptop. Accio pink vaio!
